How to Use Whetstones
There are three types of whetstones we would like to recommend you to have as basics; coarse whetstones, medium whetstones, and finishing whetstones. Coarse whetstones best fits to grind off a nicked edge of iron blades. Medium whetstones is suitable for normal sharpening and can be used for a variety of knives from stainless-steel knives to iron blades. Finally, finishing whetstones is to keep a sharp edge for long and take it to the professional quality. These three types are must-haves and recommended to own at least one of each.

- Types of Whetstones
Whetstonesfor grinding off a nicked edge or re-shaping (grit 60 to 240)

How to Sharpen Knives（Video）
Knives have different shapes and materials depend on its use, and there is no one “correct way to sharpen knives.”
Regarding sharpening kitchen knives, it is often said that the angle between the whetstone and the knife should be of the two coins or around ten degrees. However, this should be considered as just one rough idea for the household kitchen knives as it varies depend on the thickness or hardness of the knife.
It is important to keep sharpening and using the knife to find out the “correct way” for your own knives. In this video, a general sharpening method is explained. This can be an instruction for those who have never sharpened knives before. It is not that complicated process. You will soon get the hang of it.
How to Maintain Whetstones [Maintenance-Whetstone]（Video）
It is essential to keep the whetstone flat for a better result. Maintaining the whetstone before and after use with a maintenance-whetstone is necessary.
Whetstone Maintenance Plate [Tairagain]（Video）
Usually, you put the maintenance-whetstones on your whetstones you want to maintain. But this unusual product differs from other existing maintenance-whetstones, and you put your whetstone on Tairagain and rub back and forth to make the whetstone flat. Please apply some detergent on to the roller before use. Also, make sure to soak the flat whetstone into the water.

Whetstone for Carving Knives（Video）
Please use the most suitable dents or back side of the whetstone along the shape and size of your carving knife. For sharpening the U-shaped gouge, it doesn’t have to fit perfectly with the dent. Instead, use the larger dent and sharpen it gradually by turing the gouge. Please be creative and try to use any dents or surface to get the best result.
Rounded Blade Whetstone（Video）
A versatile whetstone for rounded blades like carving knives and chisels. Both the inside and outside of the blade can be sharpened with this product. Please try to find the best angle for your blade on the curve of the whetstone.
Container for Whetstone and Sharpening Board（Video）
A container with a holder frame. Its storage part can be used as a water container which enables you to carry it around and sharpen knives anywhere you want. Convenient to keep the necessary things like dust cloth along with whetstones.
